    Thanks Scott. Author is right on. I printed it, signed it and hung it on the wall in my office. Will send to firends and family encouraging them to do the same, maybe some politicians also.

    Listen Michael Barnhart here is the facts. As far as the Federal Firearm Codes are concerned you are NOT restricted from firearms. On the other hand you have your State Firearm Laws that may restrict certain misdemeanors in that state along with Domestic Violence misdemeanors. For example in PA if you have a drug possession misdemeanor you would be restricted from firearms in PA but you can still get a firearm and firearm permit in Virginia, Florida and Utah.
    That is where a lot of people with misdemeanors other than domestic violence get screwed. You have to get it expunged, set aside or get a pardon. The other option is to leave that state. If you can get restoration of rights for a misdemeanor then do so but they are for felons because a misdemeanor conviction was not suppose to take any rights away until the Government decided to do so on domestic violence.
