hmmm wow, if this is true then thats surprising how easy it was to overturn that decision. especially considering how that would have been for the government to be able to cut off the flow of brass to civilians

The Government stockpile can't last forever. All ammo manufacturers need to get together and refuse to sell any ammo to the federal government. When the government decides to quit harassing gun and ammo manufacturers and owners then begin selling ammo to them again.

This situation has been rectified in the favor of gun owners, and it was True Blue democrats who kept it from happening, a little hope yet, it was because of folks just like us sending mail to there representitives that saw to this being stopped.. [:)][:)][:)][:)]

and why do you all think manufacturers would even think of doing something like that? they are in business to make money, not support political causes.

    therock,

I believe you are referring to Ronnie Barrett, creator of the iconic Model 82 .50. When California passed a ban on ownership of rifles chmbered for the .50 BMG cartridge, Mr. Barrett took a stand, and refused to sell any of his products to LE agencies in Cali, or service any existing Barrett products they possessed.

Basically, he rubbed their nose in the Constitution and advised them to go engage in sexual intercourse with themselves.[;)][:D]

Man! This is the first I've heard of this. I'm truly amazed. It almost leads one to believe that we can make our voices loud enough to be heard.

Let's hope we can be as vociferous when Pelosi's Pukes realize that the only way they will be able to effectively screw us is by the usual method - pass an 1100 page bill that nobody reads prior to voting on it.

One of the gun manufactures that put it to Cali was Glock. Glock refused to submit to Cali's latest round of useless "Safety" testing. They basically told Cali that if they had to submit to such costly testing, then they would simply stop doing business with california. To include stopping ALL Glock sales, (to include parts), to California. Since the majority of Ca. Law Enforcement had Glocks, California gave Glock a pass.

Does anyone has any proof of this? I have not been able to confirm this at any reputable source. The only reference I could find was Barrett's 2003 letter to some CA state senator.

Besides, manufacturer's usually have a number of distributors, do you honestly believe that manufacturers have any control over how and to whom their products are sold? Barrett, according to their website, distributes via RSR group. I could not locate any information on either website to confirm Barrett's .50BMG unavailability to CA law enforcement agencies.

I find it amusing, in a way, how most of you, if not all, conveniently ignore logic and reality over some make-belief feelgood fairy tails. (Whiny Wendies don't take this too personally.)
