Where to start

I am thinking of getting a bow, but I have been out of the game for years. Where do I start? What are the major manufactures out there to look into?

    It will really start with your budget, I've a little over $1000 in my set up. How much you want to spend?

    Just to mention some names. Bowtech, Mathews, Hoyt, PSE, Martin, Mission, Diamond, Ross, Pearson, Elite....I'd mention more but I just went blank.

    I'm trying to get back into archery too. I've been reading and looking at reviews on "Hunter's Friend" which has helped a lot.

    I know that 2 years ago I got my Bowtech TomKat set up for 550 with 1/2 doz arrows.
    My sons PSE Stinger had a very decent price on it.
    Go to a couple of bow shops, shoot what they have, and make your decision that way.
    They are all good brands and they all shoot well for some people. Find one that fits you well and that you can shoot well and you will be way ahead.

    Tribute was one of Bowtechs best IMO. I like the center pivot like the General and it shoots great but I still think so far, and i haven't shot any of the 09s, the best one they have made so far is the Tribute.

    I honestly have nothing bad to say about it. It is a Great bow, I just have a customer of mine that owes some money, and is willing to "give" me an 09 Bowtech, with the wishbone limbs, so I can't pass it up.
