It appears to me that Kyle has his schit wired tight, and have posted an example above of a response (in bold) he rendered.

I vote 'Yea' for this induction.

    Allow me to be honest, here ;
My instant, guttural, visceral reaction was ; You GOT to be joking...RIGHT ???

Then common sense kicked in, and I have watched the progress of Deadred707 over the few weeks he has been here.
Progress for some is measured by a stake driven in the ground, and inch by painful inch advanced upon.

    For others...it is quantum leaps.

    I vote `aye'.

I would be glad to add my affirmative vote as well. It would be agreat benefit to have more people from Kali grow in their knowledge as has Deadred707. Perhaps he can lead by example and begin the restoration in the PRK.

#8 votes yea. Although Deadred707 is brand new here, he seems like a stalwart sort who belives in that piece of paper. I say give him a shot.

Having been given no reason for a "no" vote at this time based on content of posts, as I have seen no post contrary to our mission statement and general beliefs, I still think a threshold of time and/or number of posts has not been met. I would prefer that more of a track record has been established and maintained.
At this point I have seen and been in total agreement with Deadred707's posts, and I appreciate his request for induction. I would like very much to add his name to membership.
    After only 25 posts?
    A hesitant "yea".

I understand...completely. The great object here is not really the C.A.'s...but a greater concept. Were a member to suffer a mental collapse, and suddenly begin supporting something other then the Constitution..we need do nothing more then to remove said member from our roles.

We have members herein that were opposed to the concept of 'no government interference at all'..longstanding. They, over a period of time, changed their minds. Many without the benefit of the amount of information we have availible right here on these forums.
They changed their minds in SPITE of the ugly pressure I put out...for some, because of it.
Today we have a goodly mixture of ugly pressure, and smoothly presented information that catches prospective members from both directions.
Sort of a hammer, and an anvil, so to speak...and people that come by ARE changed by what they read here, wheather they like it or not.

I am willing to give the benefit of the doubt, as you are..and then continue to verify.

Just came in from work, and saw this.

I think it is far too soon, but you guys go with your gut feelings on this. I have seen almost nothing of his posts,......so out of ignorance I will do an Obama, and vote "present."

I certainly won't get my shorts in a wad over it though since I think we are not using a unanimous decision any longer.[;)]

Those of you that know more than I, make the decision.

First let me say that this may very well be my last post on GB... I do not appreciate taking time out of my life to write something I feel strongly about, just to have some prick delete it.

Second I would be very weary of letting such new members in, say under a 500 post count. For obvious reasons, trolling, etc.. Also no one, as far as I know in OBCA is "judging" anyone as far as I know.. I was under the guise the brethren was basically like minded individuals in regards to personal rights, liberties, and freedoms...

one last thing before I get off here, HURRY UP on the webpage, I am currently "internet homeless" there are NO good places to participate in any good forums. Guns and all.com forums are all but dead, the million gunowner march is ALREADY plastered with adverts AND you must be registered to even view the board.

    Mike,
Was this here in the Gun Rights forum? I have not deleted anything in a while. Of course, admin "can" poof things in here, but they usually stay away, unless someone complains about something.

definitely not you, sir ;) I should have clarified. Someone or should I say a line of people got there ass handed to them in general; The hour or so time I had vested in to "pouring out my heart" was deleted.

And just to be clear, whoever deleted my thread, "you know what sucks" is a prick...

What jp said, including a very, very hesitant "aye", with the exception of the stricken and added (in red) text.

Provisional member may be more appropriate, so that his philosophy has more time to develop.

I, for instance, came here with an already developed philosophy, actually, my philosophy developed long before there was GB.

Okay Rock, you caught me typing in a hurry, supper was on the table. [:I][:I]

Rather, my intent was to say that our understanding of his philosophy would develop, given time.

20 something posts just doesn't give me an appropriate flavor of someones principals. Of course, I am considered a bit "slow on the uptake" by some.[:)]

I don't much care WHAT the fake, propaganda riven, pabulum drivel of a `philosophy' they come here with...my intention is to introduce them to the bedrock of America...and many for the first time in their life.

That `bedrock' is the Second Amendment... the meaning of, the meaning FOR, and the duty of every American to support that Amendment.

Okay, understood. Thank you for clarification. Btw, in context, this guy is right along the lines with everything you guys preach, as far as I could see. In abstract, I agree.

After that it goes a bit deeper and gets a bit more complicated politically charged. [8D]

My point was exactly that ^^^. Why do you think that every new comer here doesn't already believe what you believe and why do you think they need your introduction "to the bedrock of America"?

Thought this would be the answer. Not that my opinion matters, or should, I see nothing wrong with such approach.

As a matter of fact, I would even go further, and wholeheartedly agree (and yes, in some perspective, it would contradict with what I said above), and add that it probably is the right approach -- to assume a new member of any abstract ideological organization requires to develop somewhat.

Alright now, where is my beer...

Let me just say I had prepared my self for some "Nay"'s because of the low post count. [B)] But you will not see me doing the old "Nice Post, thanks for sharing" thing 499 times.

Unless I missed it, I see no "nays".

After having more time to consider/discuss it, I see no real potential downside, only upside. My vote is simply "yea".[:)]

    Nor do I.
I simply bowed out, as what I said was correct,......I have not seen the guys posts! That is why I left it up to the rest. I also do not have the time to look up every post the guy has made, and read the entire thread to get the meaning of said post, and what it relates to.

If the rest of you do,.......I say more power to you.

I don't know if his shot was meant for me, concerning "worthless posts" per se.

Yes,.....I am of like mind with you guys, but I am also different.
Seems like most of my brethren don't understand what a sense of humor is. I do, and have a quite active one, and always have.

Not taking a shot at anyone, but we are all different.
If making meaningless posts in GD is a negative,......then I should be removed right away, and you can move the numbers up one notch.

I don't see what the big deal is personally.
If you want me to say "yea or nea" specifically, then say so.

Mark, you have completely taken this out of any way it was remotely intended by anyone, at least as far as the way I've been taking the posts. I know this can happen from experience as typing is no substitute for eye contact and voice inflection.
I will be THE VERY FIRST in line to stand in defense of you for ANY position you take brother.<<<---I mean that!

Nothing was directed specifically to you from me, or anyone else that I can tell. Deadred's post concerning worthless replies, I took to mean he will always have a low post count. There are some mebers that have been here 8 years with barely over 100 posts, he might be one of those types.

As far as your vote, you vote anyway you choose or not at all, like you did, is absolutely 100% fine! It is entirely up to you as it is any of us.
Is something else wrong? Fire me an email if so!

JP,.....nothing is wrong with me at all bud, other than being whooped from work today.

I just don't get where the comment about expecting some "no votes" came from?

I, like you, saw absolutely none. I was the only member to not take a position though, so I presume I am a "nay" voter. I may have incorrectly taken that further to his comment about "nicey type" posts.

I don't personally care if one posts once a year, or 100 times a day,......I only care what is in their heart, and belief system.
I don't know the guy, have no experience with him,......therefore instead of saying "golly gee guys, sure he would be great", I responded as I did.

I am fine though, but thanks for asking.
Hope all is well on your end also!

PS: What happened to rock this time?[:0]

I think he is still awaiting the expected "no" votes. Apparently he knew the post count might be an issue. His posts have been pretty definitive-no compromise.

As far as Max, he and select-fire got into it, but it was very mild. SF has very very thin skin apparently, went to Nunn boohooing, and got Max locked. I responded in a subsequent thread by SF, that if that was enough to get a guy locked, I should have been locked a hundred times by now. Obviously I have been lucky, I guess, to have pointed my vitriol at folks who can handle it. Anyway, the popst where SF was crying got poofed.

I understand now what happened,.....thanks JP.
I won't go any further, but I have had run-ins with SF before.

Don't wanna cause Pick an issue so I will leave it nice and clean.[;)]

Marc, I don't think Deadred707's post was directed at anyone in particular. I think he was referring to NOT making posts (like my last one [:0]) which doesn't have a lot of "content" to it. ROFL. Just to run his post count up.

Your's was not a nay vote, so in that respect, he couldn't have been talking to you. I understand where he might be apprehensive about being accepted with such a low post count.

There are sights that require a certain number of posts, to access certain functions. Selling for instance. A member is required to have a certain number of posts, before he/she can list anything for sale, on "other" forums.

It may also be because, no one has a real strong "feel" for the guy, simply because he hasn't posted that many times......yet. But what he has said, so far, speaks volumes.

    Back to the subject...

We stand at 7 "yea" votes as of this point in the thread.

Where the heck are the rest of the brethren? It's not like us to make a man languish.

Picken, can you edit the title of the thread? Maybe they are not noticing?
