I hope to see this continue across the land.
Of course we know certain states that would never think of it.

I believe I am going to C&P this, and send it to my Rep if you don't mind. Not your post but the link of course.[;)]

Forgive me, fellas...looks like a ton of weasel words, designed to make EVERYBODY feel better.

Are they refusing Money from the fed today...school, roads, prisons..ect ?

Are the federal gun laws enforced inside State boundaries ? If not...I might just sell out and get on the road.....

Speaking of receiving federal funds...I wonder what would be wrong, if the state would take it to the extent of telling you not to pay your federal taxes, send it to them instead. Any state that did this would have a surplus of astronomical proportions...cutting out all the fed pork so to speak. Hmmm.....

It is having a public hearing on 5 February, HB, and has not yet been voted upon.

Obviously one must question if anyone is actually serious about this, but the wording below:

VI. Further infringements on the right to keep and bear arms including prohibitions of type or quantity of arms or ammunition; and...

suggests that this is not an attempt to roll back Federal intrusions that already exist. This type of compromise would probably not be included if one was simply making a point.

Over the course of my life, I have eagerly awaited the first state to secede.
That state will be my first real home. I have felt that I live behind occupied lines since I begin to reason...more years ago then I care to think about.

I can think of no better place to be buried...in ground that proclaimed `Freedom' from the roof tops...EVEN if that freedom lasted only two weeks.

I plan to move north as soon as the chitlins are out of school. I love NH and the freedom minded folks that live there.

There is, of course, a spot reserved for you at my table HB.

Would be an honor and pleasure to sit down at a Freemans' table and break bread.
    I look forward to it.

Even in the times we live in, it is always a pleasant experience to merely converse with one versed in freedom and values.

Well, it has passed out of committee. It is the first shot across the bow, if it passes the full legislature. I'm as pleased as I can be that my state of NH has introduced this resolution. Is it as tough as it could be? No, but then I don't see any other states with balls this big yet (although 7 have similar legislation pending, and at least 20 are considering it). Not too surprising when you consider NH told the feds to go screw themselves on Real-ID.

Several committee members and the bills writer, Rep. Dan Itse (R), emailed me Sunday night indicating they would vote to pass it out of committe.

Its about to get interesting folks.

Congrats fitz. How cold are the winters there? Worse than NE Colorado, I presume?

Shhh..... being a life time resident of the Live Free or Die State (Dont tell all our secrets...lol).
No sales tax, No state income tax, and one of the few remaining Free states. No open carry permits, no waits, no limits. Person to Person transfers and more. Our legislature is one of the largest in the country, but we do not go broke having it, reps make a modest expense salary. Unlike our neighbors to the south, fat cats, Libs and crooks. Feel bad and proud when my brother in law has to come up from mass just to shoot his guns. This is not the first time NH has stood it's ground and wont be the last.

It is durn cold there. I spent the better part of last week at the Ruger manufacturing facility in Newport. It sure is beautiful though and the cold is not the same as the cold in Philadelphia or Baltimore. I may end up a Yankee again.

8 Other states have proposed similar legislation. They're estimating that 20 additional states are drafting similar legislation as well.

In addition, Montana has proposed legislation that states firearms and ammunition made in the state of Montana, that do not LEAVE the state of Montana, are not subject to Federal gun laws, which are enforced on the principle of regulating interstate commerce.

This isn't just a shining beacon of liberty. This is an UPRISING. I bet this has been planned since the early Campaigning days.

    The uprising HAS BEGUN.

    Go Montana!
(and NH). I'm looking at getting out of the People's Socialist Blue-State Left-wing Anti-gun Anti-freedom Opressive Anti-property rights, Anti-development Workers Paradise Republic of Orygun. I was born here and although it is a beautiful state, the repressive social and economic policies of our Governor Taxandgougeme, have caused a mass exodus of talent and business to other states. I deeply resent the assumption that our duty is to become the playground of the rest of the U.S. (since the other states have already fouled their own nests). Is our lot to be nothing nothing more than a second rate service industry peddling tourism to the rest of the country who want to worship at the alter of "Old Growth" timber. Don 'cha know, if you never cut down a tree, then it will live forever? Ever see old, diseased, insect-infested forests which was shortly followed by massive devastating forest fires? Hmmm, lemme think...is there some cause and effect relationship here?? Whatever happened to the concept of cutting some trees to provide wood products and decent jobs? Oh, sorry, I guess that's not PC these days. I should report myself to the thought police.
If any state will stand up for state's rights against a repressive and encroaching federal government, then they have my support and admiration. I would gladly move to a place like that!
I hate to pessimistic, but I doubt that out new Messiah would allow any serious dissention or any other threat to federal hegemony. Do Waco or Ruby Ridge (or the Uncivil War, for that matter) come to mind? Strange that the Civil War was fought over civil rights......Freedom? Well, that is a nice theoretical concept, but it really doesn't have much place in modern American society. The government needs overriding control. After all, it is for the children. Maybe self-determination is a federal concern after all.
    What do you think?
P.S All perceived sarcasm is intended and well deserved.
