ice fishing rod set-up

a few years ago I saw an icefisherman with a set up. I am trying to find the plans for it so i can make a few for myself.it was a board 6-8'x3-4' there was a PVC pipe to hold the rod mounted on one end of the board.You use a full size rod and it is bent and somehow hooks to a mech. that releases from when a strike occurs.The guy told me he saw the design in a PA. game news mag but I cant remember the name or the site i found it on back then.Any help getting to it would get me out on the ice.
