you might check the hand spring...it could be as simple as removing the cylinder and spraying some brake cleaner in it. the spring could be broken; not a major repair and pretty common.

Definitely sounds like a broken hand spring or sticking hand. SOmetimes they pack grease that hardens in them when new & it gums up the works.

If the cylinder rotates freely then the bolt stop is not rising up like it should. Probably a broken spring. The spring in question has two fingers on it and it is common for one of the fingers to break off. It is a simple fix, just get a new spring.

If you want to check for sure then you have to disassemble the firearm. Do this by removing the back strap, (three screws), and trigger guard, (three screws). When you take the trigger guard off turn the revolver upside down and look inside. You should see a large screw head toward the front of the frame. This screw holds the spring in question. Look at it, if it has two seperate fingers coming back toward the back of the frame then it is fine. If it does not then the spring is broken. If it is broken then the broken piece should have fallen out when you took the trigger guard off.

Anyway, let us know what it turns out to be.

Looks cool on tv,very not good for SA's...wear and tear on the cylinder hand, and could break off the cylinder locking bolt if you let the hammer down while it' was still spinning.I suspect you've broken the bolt.

Definitely trigger and cylinder bolt lock spring.
These commonly break and are unreliable. Reliability can be improved by tapering the two arms and filing a radius in the base between the two arms with a Swiss rat tail file.
You can get a replacement copy or one made of bent up wire from Wolf springs.
