lc smith safety operation question

i have a field grade lc sxs in 12 ga. the safety will move to fire both foward &backwards. is this correct or is somthing besides me out of whack? gun has double triggers if this matters. thanks for your help in advance.

  YES, it is correct, and NO, nothing else but you is "out of whack"[:o)]. That said, be very careful with what you shoot in that old scattergun... LCs are known for being on the dainty side, and are prone to the buttstock breaking at the wrist if you feed them modern high pressure loads.
