Well it depends. Berdan or boxer primed? Military or commercial?

    A) Take up reloading.
    B) Find a friend that reloads and donate them.
    C) Find a reloader and see what you can get (compare $ to Midway's grade 3, unsized, w/spent primer & crimp, unpolished 1x fired brass).
    D) Scrap em out.

If match grade, you could probably get something for it if you sell it, though it would vary by caliber. I for instance sold 100 tumbled, deprimed, decrimped REGULAR 06 GI cases but only got $5 for them so it was hardly worth the time, but for match grade, you should get a bit more. But I agree, take up reloading!

You shouldn't have any difficulty selling match brass if you want to take the time to do so - particularly sorting the calibers. Alternatively, break it down into two, fifty pound, lots (to avoid overweight surcharges on shipping) and sell it as it is for a premium to the scrap price.

However, if you have that much match brass kicking around, it sure sounds like you could use a loading bench!

As I recall you recently had a post on identifying M1 Garand (30-06) ammo from 30 Carbine so I'll assume that this is some of your dad's stuff that you've received.

I can't say I've ever seen match 30 Carbine, but I admit that I haven't looked for it either since the accuracy of that rifle never really lent itself to match shooting.

So if you have the carbine mixed with the "06" you've got a little sorting ahead of you before you can sell it off to reloaders. Of course you could just do an auction post stating say 20 lbs. of mixed brass and see what happens, just set the price at or above what your local scrap dealer is offering (and make sure you tell the dealer that it is ammo casings) and make it clear that the buyer pays the shipping charges. By staying at 20 lbs. or less you keep the shipping cost down and UPS will more than likely be your lowest cost shipper.

If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!
