Applying for C&R - Form 5330.20?

I am filling out my application. I received another form from BATF that is a certification that I am not an illegal alien (I think). Do I send this in too? It looks like I could just pick anyone off the street to say that I am a US citizen. I must be missing something here.

Any help appreciated.

    You certify yourself. Don't try and make sense out of some procedures. You'll just get a headache.

    Thanks for the reply. I didn't see any smiley faces so I quess you were serious - I fill the whole thing out myself. As you said, self-certification. I can't believe it!

    Silly ain't it?..Print your name on both lines of boxes,assuming you're operating alone....At least they sent it to you. I had to find out about it from a record book seller..Then fax it to Atlanta, as I had already mailed the app.....[:(!]

    I can't help but wonder how much the guy (or really group of guys) make a year to come up with ideas like this form.

    The reason that they require this form, is if you are trying to get a license illegally, they can get you on charges like fraud or mail fraud, since just applying isn't a crime. Just like if a felon tried to buy a gun and filled out form 4473 at the dealers, he only gets denied, not charged with attempting to purchase a gun.
