YES IT HAS A V IN THE SERIAL # , TOLD THIS WAS A POLICE OR MILATARY, ERA MID 1940S ????

You are able to order S&W manuals online. They are pretty good about shipping them quickly. I've ordered some online myself for one that I bought used and had no manual. Here's two links for you. Hope this helps.

I know how to do the field strip. I am talking about removing the fireing pin, Extractor, Ect.
