I am still having problems trying to date this gun. Any help would be great. The number on the gun is X57493. I think it could possibly a 1957 on the year but unsure. please help. Thanks............JB

    The last/highest serial # 16ga "X" prefix to be received
    into the FN (Belgium) warehouse as of 6-30-51 was serial #: X51801.
    The last/highest serial # 16ga "X" prefix to be received
    into the FN (Belgium) warehouse as of 12-31-51 was serial #: X59400.
    Thus it appears there was around 7500 "X" prefixes for both European sales
    and export, manufactured in this time frame.
    So one can be assured it was manufactured in the fall of 1951.
