FNG with a Model 94 question
I was looking at a Winchester Model 94 Flatband 30 WCF for my son. What does Flatband 30 WCF mean? Thanks for any info.

Thanks for the reply. I agree with you I'm still going to buy the rifle. I was just curious about what it meant. 0 -
Winchester Center Fire? 0 -
"Flat band" refers to the front band (nearest the front sight). In The Winchester Book it is noted that "during World War II, a lack of sufficient machinery for civilian arms caused Winchester to use a flattened front barrel band; this variation began in the 1,400,000 range and continued to number near 1,460,000". The "flat band" is very easy to spot when compared with the normal well rounded band usually found on the Winchester. WCF means Winchester Center Fire as noted above, 30WCF = 30-30.
