If you can't buy a replacement spring from any other source, then you'll have to locate a gunsmith Spring maker..or take a crash course in a spring making yourself... Here's the name and address of the Best of the best when it comes to making springs...I don't know if he will be interested in making you one...but you can ask..

It doesn't sound like a hard spring to make yourself once you get the exact diameter wire size.

I agree, but where would you get; round spring wire, Is it a typical
type used in springs ? I can make an exact replica out of copper wire. Would this do, if I sent it off to a gunsmith ? Or would he need the gun ?

Measure the wire diameter with a micrometer or caliper to the nearest one thousandth of an inch then call some machine shops and ask for spring or music wire. If you have no luck, post the size. One of us may have 6" of the right size.

Copper will not work, its too soft . You need spring steel which is annealed or hardened and thats why it breaks..they all break at the same place..the point where there is the most stress on the spring...I suggest that you contact the gentlemen Captain Kirk recommends and have him make more than one, you will definitely need it again

they have stainless steel spring wire and lots of other hard to find stuff..a handy place to look for those odd bits and pieces us mad scientists always seem to need
