Another Shotgun Question Pease
I have a 12 guage W. Richards double barrel with hammers. It has damascus barrels that are 18" long. It also has on top of barrel "W. Richards, London, Laminated Steel" Its has engraving on the sideplates, bottom of the frame and bottom of trigger guard. It has a steel buttplate. On the bottom of the barrels under the forend there is the number '14' with 3 symbols but I don't know what they are. The serial number is 956 and that number is on the frame, barrel and forend. It has a small crack in the forend but other than this it looks like its in very good condition. Can anyone tell me what it might be worth and the age? Thanks again! :-)

There were London Richards, but I have a feeling you'll find ELG proofs on the barrels. If so, it's Belgian.18" barrels are a bit sticky in that anything under that number is worth 10 years in a federal facility of their choice. The gun, if Belgian, would be worth somewhere in the $150.00 range... Assuming in good condition and uncut. Your's is cut and in less than fine shape. If British, the gun could be worth more than its Belgian counterpart... But the same facts apply. My guess... Value will fall into the $100.00 range. Manufactured around 1900. 0
