300 Sherwood

i own a Cogswell &Harrison in 300 Sherwood.For some reason i can not reload properly as the cases seems to be tapered to the front?.After i resize cases and inserted bullet it would not fit chamber?.
Any suggestions/help--i were told that i should ream the chamber?

  Have a chamber cast made (this uses a metal that melts in boiling water, after casting the piece is knocked out and measured).
  Compare the cast to A) a sized case a loaded case and C) one of the bullets your using.
  How do your sized cases (without bullet) fit your chamber?
  Are you sure that your bullet is the correct diameter for your rifle? This is what I suspect your problem is. If I'm right, it's a simple case of getting A) the correct bullet sizing down a stock bullet (would require a simple bullet sizing die) or C) having a mold made and casting your own bullets.
  
  I don't have a 300 Sherwood in my collection, so I can't give the the diameter of a factory loaded bullet.

  There are two versions of the 300 Sherwood. One is straight and the other case is slightly tapered. Your dies may be for the second, creating a tapered case with a mouth that is too small for your bullets/chamber.

  tommie welcome to the forum. What size bullets are you trying to load. The Sherwood uses a .300 bullet. You can do a web search; type in 300 Sherwood loads and there are a couple of articles on it. Good luck!
