38-55 RIM thickness
I have a Remington Hepburn in 38-55 Black hills ammo using Starline brass with lead bullet works great but I found some Winchester Oliver Winchester COMM ammo stock W38550FW the breach block will not close the rim is too thick . Then I found some older Western cartridges they work great . Has anyone else had this problem with Winchester ammo [?][?]

I dont know if this will help you but sometime between mid 80s and 2005 the specs were changed on the 38-55 case.Older specs had a case length of 2.125 newer cases are 2.080.both have a rim thickness of .063 0 -
Thanks I could see problems but old WW cases work and new Star line work it is just the 10 year old WINCHESTER ones don't work. I will check case length . after I pull bullets on some of the Winchester. 0 -
Karl,
I've shot both Winchester and Starline in my Marlin 1893 38-55 without any problems. That said, I firmly believe Starline is the best brass you can buy for straight cases, like 38-55, 45-70, 45-90. Thats all I buy, when buying new brass. Great product.

I use only the Starline brass it is the best. 0
