but a quick question based upon this statement from the article:

Wouldn't the point, or Ogive, described above be the same diameter for either the Secant or the Tangent Ogive? At some point they both have to have an intersecting point with the bearing surface of the bullet.
With all of this being said, this brings me back to my original question. Were you trying to tell me that my dies are seating off a diameter smaller than the acutual Ogive and that is the reason the shape of the bullet could affect the OAL to the Ogive.?.? If so, I now understand your point.

...and one more question: Would an 8 Ogive mean that bullet had a larger diameter than the 7 Ogive, or is this just an relationship of the shape of the bullet from the point where it meets the bearing surface to the tip of the bullet?
