Lee shell holder - RCBS Hand primer tool
Hello Friends,
This is my first post.
I recently purchased an RCBS Rockchucker kit that came with a hand priming tool. I have Lee dies with a Lee shellholder. Do I need to purchase an RCBS shell holder for this hand primer? I am using the hand primer with the large primer fitting (black) but I cannot get it to feed a primer into the tube so that I can press it into place.
Thank you kindly.

My RCBS priming tool uses the same shell holder that you use in your loading press. This is different from the Lee shell holders. 0 -
What caliber are you trying to load? If the shell holder is for something that takes a small primer, that's why the large primer won't feed through [;)] 0 -
Hello,
Thanks for the replies and questions.
I am intending to load .45 Colt. I used the Lee .45 Colt shellholder to remove the primers on my RCBS press. The primers do not seem to slide all the way into the slot. The rod that pushes them up does not seem to seat all the way down when the primer tool is open. It sticks up about 1/16th inch.

You don't have the rod in upside down do you [?] It has a flat end and a round end. Make sure the tool is together right. 0 -
I put the rod in flat end up as the instructions state. But it seems to sit a little high. I will check to see that the round end is in the "socket" down below. 0 -
I got it working. Thanks for the help! 0
