i use h4895 for all 30 cal mil surplus rifles.

I don't think he was asking a question, rather making a statement of fact regarding his powder of choice for mil rifle. 0 -
Yes, and while not the absolute ideal for some calibers, it is very good in most. 4895 is a very versatile powder, useful in anything from the .223 through the 45/70. Though it really shines in the .308-30/06 class (including most of the Mauser and similar cartridges of similar size and capacity) it can be used in most anything. It's also pretty tolerant of downloading within reason for low velocity cast lead loads. 0 -

Hodgdon lists 4895 as THE powder of choice for reduced loads.0
