Pistol cases
When reloading 38/357 and 44 mag is it as important to load the same brand of cases as it is with rifle or is it okay to mix them up?? Thanks

I never sort pistol brass UNLESS;
(1) I am shooting MAX loads
(2) I am shooting NRA Bullseye
(3) I am seeking to eliminate as many variables as possible.
If they are for plinking or for informal target shooting it may not be worth the bother.0 -
I just do it out of habit, but I can't argue with bpost1958 reasons for not doing it. I had some mixed brass loadings for my Dan Wesson once and they had about 4 or 5 loadings on them. These were not max loads by any means but out of a box of 50 I had 5 cases that had failed and all 5 were of the same manufacturer. Don't exactly know what happened maybe they were older or more brittle than the others or what. Now I just keep them all seperated by brand so I can maintain better control over them. 0 -
I can't improve on bpost's comments at all. That's perdamnzackly what I do. 0 -
