Making buckshot
Bought a Sharpshooter mold for #00 buckshot and just did up a couple pounds. Trimmed up the sprues and now am thinking about coating with graphite. What's a tried and true way? Contemplating using the liquid aerosol dry graphite spray but might be a tad messy.

The question that comes to mind is WHY? 0 -
I have never tried it but how about Lee bullet Alox? 0 -
I agree I see no reason to coat buck-shot
EDIT I see your point with no plastic wad. However I do think a plastic wad DOES without a doubt give a better gas seal and less chance of blown pattern. YMMV0 -
The old manuals I've read just recommended graphite coating to reduce lead smearing on the barrel walls....as I'm just planning on using cards and wads rather than the plastic shot sleeves. 0 -
I agree with perry shooter. A plastic wad is a better way to go. If not, the lee liquid alox is a great bullet lube, and should take care of your needs. 0 -
Hope you're not talking about coating the mold. I made that mistake. Took quite a few castings to burn all of the graphite off. 0
