Powder for 32 acp
Hi Guys,
I am going to be reloading 32 acp in the near future with a lee turret press. Given the small quantity of powder needed, can anyone suggest a good fine grain powder that will measure accurately with Lee equipment?
These won't be hot loads, just target shooting with my 1903 Colt.
Thanks

You didn't say what weight bullets you will be loading, but i would probably look at accurate #5, 2.9 to 3.2 gr with 71 grn or 2.2 to 2.4 with 85 grn both jacketed bullets. 0 -
Probably 71 gr FMJ's. 0 -
I use 2.5gr of 231 with a 71 gr fmj bullet 0 -
Even though I like Bulls-Eye powder UNLESS you Have a STAR loading machine I would use a Ball Powder to get good repeat weights. Just My Thought 0 -
Winchester 231 is the only powder I can get to measure properly in small amounts in a Lee machine. I use it for all lower velocity pistol loads. 0 -
Another 231 recommendation. 0 -
Thanks guys, I'm going to a gun store this afternoon and I'll see if I can find the Win 231. Hopefully I can also find some .40 brass and some primers (I know, but I can dream, can't I?).[:D] 0 -
Well I made it to the gun shop. I found that he had almost all the variants of powder, plus he had some used .40 brass, AND he just got in some Federal small pistol magnum primers. PLUS the prices were pre-obamalamadingdong. Today was a good day. [:D][:D][:D]
Now I just have to figure out how much to throttle back the powder for my .40 S&W loads with the magnum primers.0
