Don't use Graphite
A while ago I started a thread about using graphite or moly on bullet molds as a release "agent".
Don't use graphite (lock lube). It goes on and the solvent evaporates. What I didn't think of was whether the graphite would burn. [:0]
It does [:(] and it took about 2 doz casts to burn off all the residue.
Haven't tried the moly yet but will report on it after I do.

You should not need a release agent!! Moly will do nothing but help you turn out bad bullets. YOU DON'T NEED A RELEASE AGENT!!!! 0 -
Ditto. If your mold is hanging look for obvious burrs; otherwise polish the cavity by leaving a bullet in at the end of your casting session, letting the mold cool, drilling a screw into the base of the bullet, removing from the mold, rolling in a water/cleanser paste, then slowly turning about 30 times in each direction on a variable speed drill in the cavity. Then wash, dry, and lightly soot the cavities.
Every mold I've done this on drops perfectly on opening now.
The release agents I only use for ingot molds.0
