Now I'm in trouble
Things were going along good, had a few extra bucks and posted a "wanted" ad. Now I'm the proud owner of a TC 7mmTCU barrel for my Contender. Don't have any dies and haven't started reloading yet. Have the brass, bullets, presses and maybe the powder. (don't know for sure because the Speer book I have doesn't list the 7mmTCU)

It gave me a load for a handgun, this is a 21" barrel. Is that a problem? 0 -

Nope, Thompson Contender/Ugaldi....A gentleman named Wes Ugaldi designed the round for TC..for metallic silhouette shooting0 -
I do thank you for the help ! 0 -
47studebaker,
There will be more data available for the pistol length barrels than rifle length because this is where the cartridge was developed to be used. You can use this link to get a list of the powder manufacturer's websites to check their offerings. Scroll down to the bottom of the page:
http://www.angelfire.com/mo2/rifleroom/
This link is for a load manual that contains 7mm T/CU data:
http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=519178
Another suggestion is to search for handgun silhouette websites which will obviously have data available.

The data is exactly the same for pistol and carbine. Except that you'll probably get a bit more velocity from the longer barrel. 0 -
47studebaker,
The best loads Wes got out of the 7mm TCU was probably a full case of 4895 behind a 140 gr. bullet. That is with the bullet seated out about as far as you can to get as much powder into the case as you can. I use two loads currently with mine, a 14' barrel. 25.5 gr. of H4895 and 24.2 gr. of AA XMR2015. I found with the H4895 I can get just a little more velocity. The 2015 gives me just a smidge more accuracy. I've loaded with VV140, BLC-2 Tac, RE10X and anything in the fast to medium range powder. They all work just some a little better than others.
Also, check e-mail I forgot who sent it to me (from the forum here) but I have a whole spreadsheet for work-up.0 -
got the spread sheet, Thanks. 0 -
ordered the dies on tuesday, fire formed 20 shells this afternoon, only split one. Haven't figured out what scope to mount yet. 0
