9x19 to 9x17

Would trimming the 9x19 to 17mm work as a substitute for the 9x17/.380? The 380's rim dia is smaller but the otehr measurements seem very close.[:)]

  I don't think it is close enough. The 9x19 Para case is substantially tapered and the .380 is straight walled. I don't think you can make it fit. Although there has been a fair amount of 9.2x18 Makarov made out of 9x19.

  On top of what Hawk said, you would have to turn the rim down to 380 size to fit the breach face as the 9mm is larger in diameter.
