Custom bullet sizing die for Saeco Sizer

I recently bought a Saeco-Redding cast bullet sizer and it does a great job of lubing/sizing the various cast bullets that I use. It seems to do a much better job that my previous Lyman sizer. Some of my rifles use a weird bullet size (such as 0.467) and having a custom sizer die made for the Lyman was no problem, but nobody seems to do this for the Saeco. Anybody have any ideas short of buying a new Lyman and having 2 sets of sizing dies and 2 presses? They would go well with the 4-5 reloading presses already on my bench. Thanks.

  try magma they make the Star type sizer Which is the besttype ever made but also do custom work. Not cheap but good . or you could take a factory die one size smaller then you need and have a GOOD machine shop open up by grinding or reaming not drilling or boring.

  You can also make a servicable die by wrapping some fine sandpaper on a dowel, inserting it in the die and rolling back and forth across a flat surface till the desired dimension is achieved

  Thanks for the info; perry-shooter: I tried the Star sizer at a friend's house and it's awesome. Fortunately I have someone who wants the Saeco sizer for what I paid for it (the price has evidently gone up). Yes, the Star is a little expensive, but it's a better machine and the dies are only a few bucks more and they will make them in any size like you said. My old Lyman sizer does a decent job, but the bullets are not all that concentric. The Saeco does a better job, but the bullets that I ran thru the Star look like they have been chrome plated; they are that smooth. And after purchasing and paying the shipping on custom cast bullets, the price of the Star isn't too bad. Dakotashooter2-thanks for the suggestion, I opened up an old Luman die that way and it actually came out pretty good. Thanks.

  Hello The great thing about the star sizer is you can also lube the bullet Nose first if you want then any small amount of lube will be on the nose not the base of the bullet. I have lubed and shot over 300,000 match grade lead bullets in 45ACP over the last 35+ years . The Star Can't be beat. Good shooting Karl.
