case cleaner
Does anyone have a formula for a good liquid case cleaner? For many years i used a combination of chromic acid, sulfuric acid and hot water. It worked beautifully and turned the cases a bright gold. Alas I ran out of chromic acid. Also i was concerned about the disposal problem. I have used the commercial ISSO product with less than spectacular results.

Most citric acids will work, but the easiest/cheapest is 1 part white vineagr to 3 parts hot water. Let soak for 3-5 minutes, than rinse with hot water and allow to dry. 0 -
search for my post under 'case cleaning solution'. you will find a couple ideas. 0 -

Coffee pot cleaner and hot water works. Whenever I use it (or white vinegar) I finish up with a rinse in baking soda/water to neutrilize the acid. 0 -
If you really like the gold color and it seems you like acidic stuff get yourself some ARROW brass cleaner. I believe their still located some where in Minnesota. 0
