Reload Failure to Load in M1A
I recently bought a new springfield M1A (springfield commercial barrel). I went to shoot it and new winchester rounds loaded and cycled fine. Shot some surplus and it loaded and shot fine. When I went to shoot my reloaded they did not load. They stuck 1/8" out and the bolt would not close. The bullet and case length are the same as the commercial. I full length re-sized them with Lee Dies.
Would another brand re-size them better? Thanks for any help.

Get yourself a set of small base 308 dies, see if that fixes the problem. 0 -
small base dies or the seater die is adjusted too far down and the shoulders got bulged during seating, which will do the same thing. they will only advance so far and then are too large for the chamber,..thus the failure to feed. 0 -
Or, check to see if the cases need trimming. 0 -
Resize a case and test it in the chamber to make sure it will fit before trying to seat a bullet. If it fits then the trouble is with your seating operation. 0 -
Had the same problem til I was told to trim cases. Work fine since 0
