Hello. Well guys and girls the U.S. Government has banned the sale of all surplus brass from even small arms unless it is crushed first so look for the price of brass cases to go up . seems[:(!][V][:(][xx(] like we are getting hit in the pocketbook from all sides when it comes to reloading.

Perfect illustration of the US government taking a money making item and turning it into something the tax payer has to pay more for.

The current Government Knows its in for a massive fight if they pursue gun confiscation by changing the Constitution even the most Liberal Judges that they wish to appoint to the Supreme Court will not open the Constitution to accomplish there goal and re wright the SECOND AMENDMENT, So the next best course of action is to make it as hard as they can by taxation,Regulation, Imprinting & Registration and Presidential decree's Banning Imported surplus ammo.Defeating law abiding gun owners by attreation This will surely draw the NRA into the fight and force us to expend THOUSAND'S of dollars to defeat these proposals by people like GEORGE SORIOUS & The democratic anti's and there are Republicans in there to!They know there case will probably loose but the forced the NRA to go to the war chest to bankroll the battle! This is why it's imperative to join the NRA or upgrade your current membership,or just send them what donation you can.
AND AS IMPORTENT AS IT EVER WAS TO VOTE LIKE A GUN OWNER!

Your views on the NRA are not shared by many. Being a Patron member all I can say is I am extremely dissapointed in the NRA-ILA and the back stabbing they have done to gun owners.

50 cal and smaller will NOT be mutilated!!OK GUYS AND GALS, Straight from the horses mouth. spent brass of 50 cal. or smaller WILL NOT REQUIRE MUTILATION!!!

Here is the HOT off the C&P transcript of a conversation local dealer just had with a Gov. Liquidation Rep.

Please wait for a site operator to respond.

You are now chatting with 'Eddie'

Eddie: Welcome to our live chat service! How may I assist you?

Rich: Hello Eddie, I am triing to verify something

    Eddie: ok

Rich: I spoke to Hiedi yesterday and she verified for me that ALL spent ammunition brass now needed to be mutilated

Eddie: Yes, we actually just got an update on that.

Eddie: We received a slight change in the mutilation requirements for expended cartridges. Effective immediately any expended mention 50 caliber(12.7mm) or smaller can be released without mutilation. This includes expended cartridges and links. All other expended munitions larger than 50 cal including grenade fuses and flare canisters etc must still be mutilated.

Rich: THANK YOU SIR!! and please forward my appreciation to any and all partied involved in rectifying the situation and getting the mutliation requirement lifted!!

    Eddie: You got it!

Eddie: Is there anything else I can assist you with today?

Rich: nope saving a large part of my business is quite enough

Eddie: Thank you for chatting! Please contact us again if you have any further questions.

I was just notified by a fellow shooter that as of 4:30pm 3-17-09 that the DOD had rescinded it order of shredding brass and not selling it to reloaders. I hope that this turns out to be true. Seems they had received more than a few protests from shooters and a few inquiries from congressmen.

I just heard the same thing from the VCDL via email. It's posted now on their website. Just scroll down to the bottom of the insert.
