Were the misfires on the first firing (fireforming) of the Norma brass? If so, The Norma cases may be a little short on headspace and the case moves forward when struck by the firing pin failing to hit primer hard enough. I have used both Lapua and Norma cases in 2 different 6PPCs with no misfires. I check headspace dimensions of new cases before and after first fireforming and get about a .004 increase using a Hornady gage. My 22PPC and 17PPC cases show the same increase after first shot and none thereafter. Bob

I've used both Norma and Lapua as well as Rem 7.62x39 brass in the 6PPC and never had a problem. This is happening on the first fireing and I have came up with pretty much the same thinking as you have, although it seems unusual for the new factory brass to be this far off.I have a 1/16 tit running back into fireing pin hole. Thanks for your reply Bob. Willy

.004 on a firing pin strike shouldn't make any difference, unless you are on the ragged edge already. Have you tried the Lapua brass again...you may have something stuck inside the bolt that is causing the firing pin to short stoke...try disassembling and cleaning.
