Lyman cast bullet handbook is the one to go to. Also do a search on bullet casting on this forum and the reloading forum. There is a ton of good information available there, including links to a site dedicated to cast boolits.

    Gets addictive, be warned.

There is some reclaimed range lead for a good price on Gun Broker. You will get some good lead and won't have to put up with the nasty smell from melting dirty wheel weights.

Is there an indoor range near you? You can get a good supply from them.

Try your local scrap-yard for wheel weights. They usually buy them and probably would sell some to you. The last price I heard in our area was $.30 lb.If you get an inexpensive removal tool you might be able to take them off rims in the #2 steel pile or cars waiting to be recycled.

If ya take a 4X4 and paint it flat black, then put it out at any inner city intersection at about 2300 hours, and come back by 0600, you can pick up all the wheelweights you might need!!!

Lyman is the book to use! Wheel weights work, but cast a dirty mixture(lots of slag.) Missouri Bullets. com sells the perfect mixture for the type of shooting you'll be doing.
