I threw out a whole bag of them last week - talk about coincidence!

I made mine for a Mitchell clone of the Colt SAA. They will not fit a Ruger, BTW. The ratchet face on the cylinder won't let them chamber in a Ruger. Sold the Mitchell a while back and now have no use for the shorty shells.

I sized empty .410 hulls in a 45 ACP sizer die (no expander plug to allow it to pass through) then chambered and trimmed each hull to cylinder length with a razor.

I used 5.0 of Unique, a shot cup trimmed to fit and enough #9 shot to come to about 1/16" below the lip of the hull. Then I used hot glue to anchor an over shot wad made from a tablet back.

I could take birds out of flight at ten yards or less, snakes and vermin had no chance whatever, and they were just plain fun.
