Official drawings?
Just wondering.
my Speer #12 manual show 308 win and 243 rim diameter at .457"
my hornady manual shows .473" just like the 30-06.
Is there a reason for the differences?
I thought these were regulated drawings?

It must be a misprint. My Speer #10 show it to be .473". 0 -
the ANSI/SAAMI drawings indicate .473, which is not surprising since the .30-06 was the parent cartridge. 0 -

Actually the true parent cartridge, of both, is the 8mm/7mm Mauser family of cartrieges. Ever wonder why it's such a "odd" number? Translate it to metric, and it starts to make sense.0
