12 ga Tracer rounds
If you were reloading could you make these? If so, would it take adding something like white phoferous (sp) or could you just paint or add to the lead?

I have tried the "Tru-Tracer" 12ga shotgun shells. They have a small tracer element in the base of the plastic wad that traces for a short distance, about 40yds.
It would be very difficult to make your own. You would have to develop a compound, then find a way to press it into the load.
You might try putting a little baby powder in with the shot. It will leave a white trail as the pattern travels thru the air.0 -
LOL Lefty........ I am still cleaning baby powder off my face,, but I tried it.
Big PUFF and it all came back at me0 -
Good thing you didnt try WP then since it "burns" on contact with air......... 0 -
I suppose if your were desperite and feelng lucky..
Try a 30 or 50 cal tracer and a custom sabot made for a muzzle loader.
Plese let us know if you don't die.
Otherwise go buy some 12ga marine flares at the local bait and Tackle and make sure its not a full choke barrel or you'll be sorry.0 -

Thats funny.... sorry it didnt work for you. But I'll bet you smelled great afterwards.
I saw a guy shooting one of those bowling ball mortars at a match one day. He filled the finger holes in the ball with baby powder and it left a cool white trail as the ball flew thru the air0 -
Maybe you could paint the shot a bright orange color?? 0
