Casting bullets questions
Ive poured a lot of fishing weights but bought a couple bullet molds and have PURE lead. How much tin should be added, and what kind of tin do you add? Im assuming it is just melted in the pot with the lead. Anything else I should be aware of? These are 500+ grain molds for the 45-70. Thanks...

Depends. For black powder, pure lead is just fine. For smokeless loads you want a hard cast bullet. Here is a link to some good alloy recipes: http://www.lasc.us/FryxellCommentsCBAlloys.htm

While the tin will do some hardening antimony will do it better. The tin is going to help make the alloy fill the mold better. For every day shooting wheel weight hardness will do just fine. You can buy plumber's lead free solder that is mainly tin at any hardware store and mix as you see fit.
Finally go to castboolits.gunloads.com as it is pretty much the authority sight on cast Pb projectiles.0
