Casting bullets questions

    Depends. For black powder, pure lead is just fine. For smokeless loads you want a hard cast bullet. Here is a link to some good alloy recipes: http://www.lasc.us/FryxellCommentsCBAlloys.htm

    While the tin will do some hardening antimony will do it better. The tin is going to help make the alloy fill the mold better. For every day shooting wheel weight hardness will do just fine. You can buy plumber's lead free solder that is mainly tin at any hardware store and mix as you see fit.
