  Try 6.0 grains of Unique. It has more steam than a 38 and not so much that you can't shoot it all day long.

  +1 6.0grns of Unique is a good light load, and clean.

  I use 5.5 unique- great mild load. My 10 year old son shoots that load as well in my 6 inch barrel ruger gp 101. so you know recoil is mild to say the least.
