45-70 & H&R 1871 Rifle

Hello all,
I am about to receive my H&R Target 1871 rifle back after being fitted with a .45-70 barrel. In all of my reloading manuals the .45-70 cartridge is listed with 3 different levels of power. I was curious where my modern single shot H&R rifle would fall? I know for a fact that it handles Trapdoor level loads, but I am unsure about the Marlin or Ruger level loads. Curious if anyone else out there reloads for their H&R single shot.

  It will easily handle the Marlin loads, a friend has one and shoots most of what I shoot in my Marlin with no problem. He doesn't shoot the real hot stuff because of recoil with the light weight rifle.

  Thanks I just wanted to make sure it could handle the middle level of loads. Not sure I wanted to pop off a round of Ruger NO. 1 level. The H&R website does not state anything about the strength of the action.

  Middle loads (Marlin) are OK - for proof, look in a Cabela's catalog available on line and note that the H&R is one of the "OK" guns for the "hot" Buffalo Bore loads.

  I recently emailed H&R with that very question. They replied that they consider their 1871 to be in the category with the lever action guns.
