Believe it or not... another comp. .308 shooter!
OK, aside from the little sarcasm there I really do need some advice on getting started in Competition reloading for my .308. I understand the process very well, however I have never had to purchase my own equipment... thanks to the military. I need some direction on brands (RCBS, Dillon, Lee, Lyman, etc.). I also understand this is going to be a very opinionated answer, however, any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

I use the RCBS Competition dies. I load for a Remington PSS-LTR and M1A NM. Get the three die set, whatever brand you go with. I use a old Lyman All American press to load my rifle loads. With the comp seating die you use a extended shell holder, so that eleminates about all progressive presses. Check out some turret presses as most hold 4 dies. 0 -
If your looking for long term use a RCBS Rock chucker Supreme will handle it all...
Never cared much for the progressives, still don't...0 -
My preference for dies is Redding but I have many RCBS dies too. Get with club members that are the top shooters and pick their minds for more ideas. 0 -
Here is a great article on loading the 308 for competition:

As far as dies go, you will be well served with Redding or Forster0 -
