ABSOLUTELY NOT! The only dimemsion that is the same on these cses is the is the case head. The 300 Win mag cases is not even close to the same length as a 300 Wby.

I doubt with the 300 Win being .200 of an inch shorter than the Weatherby that it would even fire but if it did the result would be at the very least a cases head seperation.

    Do not even try this.

My suggestion would be go find the guy that told you this and punch him in the mouth![;)]

And that show just how little you know. Both rounds can headspace on the belt which is .220" on both cartridges, same for the 300 H&H.

It will go bang reliably, that being said I wouldn't want to do it on a non-emergency basis(hoard of zombies coming up the driveway, and fresh out of the proper ammo)...

I have fired 300 H&H in my WBY to make brass.

"I doubt with the 300 Win being .200 of an inch shorter than the Weatherby that it would even fire but if it did the result would be at the very least a cases head seperation"...........sorry but csjs is wrong, the headspace on both rounds is the same. that said, I agree with richbug.....only in and emergency. I've gat a .300 h&h imp. that can fire any .30 belted magnum (I fireform cases with .300 weatherby ammo).

I found a guy at our local gun club doing just what your asking during our "hunter sight-in". (300 Win is a LOT less expensive than 300 Wby) The cases come out with a neck about an eight of an inch long...really funny looking. It's not a practice I'd recommend....his target looked like crap as well, but that might have been more than the result of the ammo switch.

Well Once again my forum pals steer me in the right direction.Thank You All and yes I believe I will punch the guy for trying to get me on this.Although ,I am not too sure that he wasn't serious about using them in his rifle.I have known him awhile and brilliant he has never been,he claims the accuracy was the same and that he noticed no diff. OH WELL,I'm glad I have Gun broker to tuirn to ,I hope to be able to help someone out there one day also.

A gun magazine article talked about this a while back. Ever since then I've heard people talking about it.

Please don't be silly. Only do this when the zombies attack.
