12 ga wet ammo
hello
i have some new 12 ga ammo that got wet in the flood. went out the other day and tried it some went fine while a few you could see the shot fly and the wad just exit the barrel. should i just discard the remaing 7 boxes of ammo or is there a safe way to dispose of it besides cutting it apart? or dry it out?
thanks

I'd cut it apart and save the shot and use the powder for fertilizer. 0 -
Or you could sell it as wet/damaged ammo.
At least you could get a couple bucks for it...But be honest about it to the buyer.
Someone will want them for the lead.0 -
ok i will cut it apart and reuse the lead shot and wad. is there a safe way to take care of the primer so as not to discharge it? drop water on it or oil?i just want to be able to recycle as much as i can with out causing any problems for my scrap metal guy. 0 -
After you take the rounds apart and dump out the shot and powder, put a couple drops of oil on each primer from inside the case.
This will render them duds.0 -
Or fire the primer off as a blank... 0 -
I don't think oil on the primer will work - arn't all shotgun primers sealed these days? I have taken ammo to a fire station and a police station for disposal - thay take them. 0 -
Get a cheap clay chunker and burn it up ,brushing up for dove duck and quail,if it does not fire cut it up and use what you can.[:)] 0
