springfield armory m1a

i am thinking about picking up spare parts for mine and was just wondering what parts were most likely to wear out/fail. also are springfield armory and fulton armory parts interchangable? thanks in advance for any advice.

    I have had a springfield M1A for 20+ years now. The only thing I have done to mine is change to NM sights. I originally bought Fulton armory And they fell apart on the range during the 500 yard stage. Now, it may be that I goofed up during installation but, The the set of GI sights the Navy armorer put in have been working for 10 years with no issue. The rifle shoots much better than I do. If you wanted to get some springs and maybe an op rod thats fine but, mine eats anything I feed it and has never broken a single part. Long live the M1A.
