Softest primers needed
I'm stocking up on components and need to know who makes softest large and small pistol primers.

I have found Federal primers to be the softest. They usually will fire with the lightest strike. CCI is usually the hardest. 0 -

Good information to keep in mind if you're tempted to infer relative pressures from primer condition post firing. 0 -
The issue has to do with lightened D.A. trigger pulls.
On a couple of my revolvers, because of shortened D.A. hammer falls,
S.A. falls will ignite 100% while D.A. falls ignite only about 50% of the time on the first strike.
Heavying up hammer springs on these light guns to fire reliably, increases D.A. trigger pulls to an uncomfortable level.
Hopefully softer primers will fire reliably with the lighter hammer springs.0
