I need a tumbler
i have everything need to reload and ive read the manual a few time now all i need is a tumbler. Are the frankfort arsenal ones good i see them online and was thinking of picking one up?

...and I have found two cheap ones that will do for me.
Midway's Tumbler or the Lyman 1200 Pro Turbo tumbler.
They both are about that same cost, so which one is best?

thats what ive been using and so far no problems as of yet. I would suggest the media seperator also but thats not a necessity 0 -
ok i also found a lyman for the same price. is there a difference? also does anyone have the cabelas case tumbler, if so how does it work? 0 -
The Frankford Arsenal (formerly the Midway 1292) is a great little tumbler. They last a long time. I had mine (a midway 1292) and used it very hard for 12 years before the motor went. I fit a new Frankford Arsenal motor on it and it runs great.
I have a Lyman 2500 Pro Magnum and it is nice because of its' large capacity. However I had it less than 18 months before I had to send it back for a new motor. Lyman however did fix it at no charge so I was only out shipping to them.
I reccomend that if you are cleaning a lot of brass to go with the bigger tumbler. If you are cleaning normal amounts go with the Frankford. Sometimes my Lyman will bounce all over becasue I just don't have enough weight in it. The Dillon tumblers are very good as well and have a couple of freinds that have had them for around 10 years with no problems.0 -

I just got a Frankfort Arsenal yesterday and I tumbled about 2000 rounds in about 4 hours time (1 hr. per 500 rd's.) I have no idea how any others work but I was impressed with how well the brass cleaned up after just 1 hour. I bought the kit for $75.00 and it came with a media seperator, brass cleaner, media and more. Good luck and have fun. 0 -
i have an old 2 barreled rock tumbler from when i was a kid... works great and even to buy one now would probably be a whole lot less than what they want for a "tumbler" good luck btw a spaghetti colander with a lid makes a great media seperator.. 0 -
Bought a Dillon CV-500 last month. So far, works great....quiet and does not jump around and has a completely enclosed lid.
While at the store, they had a Lyman and Frankford as demos, too. These two jumped around, and the Dillon did not. These two sounded like B-52 bombers needing engine work, and the Dillon did not. These two had open slit covers, and I've only read that the media dust comes out of those slits during the vibration...one user resorted to placing a towel over it.
The Dillon was more expensive, but one gets what they pay for...at least from only turning the demos on in the store. Maybe it would be different once there is the weight of media and shells inside.0
