There are large and small 310 tools. I tried to find yours to look at it, but could not find it.

    LIB MR DUCKS!
    Never knew that.
My 310 is item # 103352681, titled Lyman 310 "Nutcracker".
No mention on the box of a "large or small", but it is marked as being for the 30-06. (Large?) Works fine with Hornets though.

Finally found an old Shooters Bible with reference to the large and small tools. Only problem is, the page reference they gave for which cal.s went with which tool, was a typo and I haven't found it yet. Just a curiosity at this point. Thanks all.

My 1944 "Shooters Bible" ( Stoeger catalog), dosn't show a 310, however it does show a #3 that is used for rimmed cartridges and the #10 for rimless cartridges.

Have that old Shooters Bible also; #60 in '1969', bought it new. It says the caliber list is on page 286 but is actually on page 312. I've used a 310 tool before but didn't know anyone else with another one to compare with to determine if it was large or small. Can't determine why there was the two different sizes except for additional leverage with the large one, probably no physical difference other than that. The dies only full sized the pistols and a few small rifle calibers. Hard to determine from the cartridge list also as it recommended the large handle for the .243 and the small handle for the .224 Weatherby. Hope this helps.
Latest discovery just in: only difference is the "boss" on top where the dies screw in, if it's less than 1" high it's the small handles. Looks like Lyman still markets these things, I had a new catalog in the magazine bin and there in it.

    336,
Thanks for the page reference. That's what I love about this game.
Always something new to learn, and always folks willing to teach you.
My 310 tool is gone, but I have lots of dies, etc. kicking around and many more memories, so let me know if you want to talk 310's.
