Borrow the wifes collender or buy a media seperator from Dillon or Midway. I have the smaller of the two that Dillon sells and it works great and is fast. It is the rotory style.

I use a plastic pasta strainer and a 3 gallon bucket to sort the brass from the media...Lyman makes one for this purpose they run around $15.00. If you go the pasta strainer route you may need to enlarge(drill) the holes to a larger diameter to remove the media at a faster rate.

My lyman came with a strainer lid.

I bolt the lid on and dump it into a 5 gallon bucket, rotate it 5-6 times over the bucket and 99.5% of the tumbling media is now in the bucket. then I pick each shell out and tap it on the side of the bucket to remove any stuck media. those 17-20 cal shells like to hold on to the media as long as possible

I use a Midway separator. You just crank it over a bucket until the cases are empty.

Just get a Lyman with the drain feature on it.
You can also get an upgrade bowl that has this feature to put on your current vibrator cleaner.

This is a 600 with a 1200 bowl. Works great. When you are ready to take the brass out, just pull the plug, and leave it running and all the media will drain out. I got a bowl with a curved cut-out in it and it fits close to the unit without spilling the media.

This will also continue to vibrate the brass and all the media will come out of your brass. Try it, you will like it as I do. I've had this one for I don't know how many years, so they have been out for a while.

Notice black rubber plug at the bottom. Just remove it and media will drain.

Go to the Lyman website -- It is called the 'auto-flo'.

Pour in a net bag like used for you wife's stuff in a washing machine "BUY YOUR OWN" or your wife will cut you off for life for using HER'S then pour every thing in the bag while holding over a 5 gallon bucket zipe the bag closed and turn over a few times all cleaning media is in bucket and all clean brass in the bag . [:p][^][:0] Do out side and wash hands might want to wear a air filter mask.

For small quantities of brass (100 or so) stop by the pet care dept in Wallyworld. Pick up a litter box scooper. Usually about $1.29.
