35 Whelen
I'm thinking about picking up a 7600 in 35 whelen , and was wondering if I can form brass by simply running o6 brass through a whelen die ?just necking the brass up from 30 cal to 35 cal .

I had a .30-06 rebored to .35 Whelen back when the .35 was still a wildcat, so I couldn't buy cases ready-made. I usually made cases for it out of military brass just the way you describe. That way there was no caliber headstamp to confuse anybody. I fireformed some with Red Dot topped with cornmeal filler, but finally settled on the direct method of running cases through the die. I formed so many that I have never needed to buy cases, and I still don't own any headstamped ".35 Whelen." 0 -
"just necking the brass up from 30 cal to 35 cal ."... yes you can but with brass relativly cheap why bother, and you have the proper headstamp. 0
