Aiming for Competition Shooting

For competition shooting (lets say pistol) where do U aim on the target[?]
Do U use Kentucky windage, do U aim dead center, do U aim right below the BULL, just where do U aim[?] where do U hold on that target?
For precision shooting, ( not just 1,2,3 lucky shots) but surgically removing the X ring from the target >>>with no 10 ring fliers.
Where would U say would be the best hold to do this.[8D]

  Iron sights or optics?
  Open irons or peep and post you want to hold the front sight at the bottom of the black, with the impact point of the bullet to be in the center of the black. Called a 6:00 O-clock hold
  With a peep and ring setup, you'd have the front ring just large enough to leave a sliver of white showing around the bull, with the bullets hitting in the center.
  
  With optics, you can go either way (either quarter the bull with the cross hairs, or set the cross hairs to just touch one side and the bottom of the bull), or use a target that has a offset aiming point (either above or below the bull).
  
  In no case are you doing a "gusstamate" on how far off you hold.

  Hello With Bulls-Eye pistol shooting there are two major schools of thought and at least one sub school With Iron Sights #1 THE top of both the rear sight and front sight vertically at the center of the black "CENTER HOLD" #2 the rear and front sight Both tangent to the bottom of the Black Bulls Eye "6 o-clock Hold" and #3 somewhere between the the bottom of the black and bottom of the white target "SUB 6" . The SUB six Hold Is used by shooters that are of the thought "IT IS EASIER TO SEE THE RELATIONSHIP OF FRONT TO REAR SIGHT" Many beganing shooter will shoot tighter groups with the target turned away from the shooter and shooting at the white CENTER OF MASS this method keeps the shooter from snatching the trigger when "IT LOOKS LIKE AN X" IMHO you can never shoot good scores "PICKING THE SHOT" "PRAISE THE HARD-BALL GUN"
