I have used the 165's and like them, they shoot as striaght as I can
I use them for hunting jack rabbits (with a pistol it's a kick in the panties when the rabbits are plentiful) mostly and practice

They make a very good bullet. I have used several calibers of them and have been quite happy. They are a little softer and backing of a bit on the load is probably a good idea (many people use lead load data fr plaed bullets). I have used some at pretty high velocities after experimenting gradually and have had good luck with a couple and really bad accuracy with a couple.

I am in need of some of those 180g XTP's you should have a giveaway![}:)]

i personally do not like them. i can buy winchester bullets from midway for a few cents more. the reason i don't like them is because of the softer jacket, they (the jackets) tend to scrunch up a little if the bullet is not perfectly straight going into the seating die. if not caught, they will jam. they've failed to chamber in my kimber 1911 .45 as well as my xd .40 often requiring serious muscle to clear the jam. not liking them, of course, is my personal preference. if you decide to use them, just use extra caution when seating and they'll work just fine for you.

They will load easier if you treat them more like lead bullets and put a little more flair on the case mouth. They are softer and more sticky than hard jackets or hard cast lead so require a little lighter load. The advantage I see is when shooting steel because they tend to flatten rather than bounce back.
