.270 Hornaday Brass question
I won a auction for some Hornaday brass. I normally load with Winchester.
What should I do differently other than check the length of the brass.
Is it thicker?
Should I load on the light side?
Or just pretend it's Winchester?

You could weigh the brass and compare Hornady v. Winchester to get an idea. Or, to be safe, just back off your normal load and give it a try. I have gone Remington-to-Federal in the past and had to reduce 3-4 grains on a .270 to get same velocity and avoid high pressure signs. Better safe than re-growing your eyebrows! 0 -
If it is headstamped "frontier", it is most likely winchester brass. Until Hornady started making their own brass (stamped Hornady), they subcontracted with other companies to make their brass. 0 -
I'll do it.
